Film Notes: Chalk up one dead Gantry Officer
Not very funny is it? I didn't even finish off Solo's arm. Tell you what though; this reminds me of what our Georgie-boy did to this scene in the Special Editions. He removed the blast flare from the officer's chests as they're killed. Yes. That's right: KILLED. Other scenes were sanitised too - the Detention Block scenes for example. Just so you know that my 12-13 year old drawing isn't the only record, here it is below.
Above: The un-edited original version. I'm emotionally scarred for life now
Below: The Forthcoming 2012 Special Edition II Version

I believe the aim was to not upset the kids, and as in the case of Han shooting Greedo in self-defense, to make the characters more morally upright. Maybe in a future version we'll see the stormtroopers, gagged and bound on board the Falcon and life-boats ejecting from the Death Star before it explodes.
It's killing no matter how you clean it up. I used to laugh at the A-Team in the 80s but not because of Murdoch and the Face's antics. No, unusually, there was LOADS of machine-gun fire and explosions (why else would you watch it?) but no one - not anybody ever got so much as a scratch.
Art Notes: Deep, thoughtful
It's very quiet page this isn't it? Apart from the shooting, blood and death - granted. But there's hardly any dialogue and in the bottom panel, it's all sort of calm and pensive. What's Chewie thinking about, do you think?
Thanks for reading! Care to comment?

Secondly, Chewie is thinking, 'I bloody told him what would happen if he beat me at holo-chess'.
Oh, and Spec Ed 2 version? Brilliant. :)
Arms out of sockets - you're right! I never thought of it! An opportunity missed there Neil!
Should I do more of these modified film stills?
O II type thing.
Chewie and the Trooper both look great.:)
