Women! (06)

Finally - finally! - we're getting near to the trash compactor scene. In panel 2 you'll notice that it's not just the enemy who are crap shots.
Art Notes
Luke's doing another of those Beano-style 'yoinks!' expressions - with sweat popping form his head in all directions. His pose is that of someone flattened against a wall - but clearly I couldn't be arsed drawing the hexagonal walls yet again. No - no - that's not it! Nine year old me was trying to bring the reader's focus onto Luke. Yep, that's it."GO ON PRINCESS"
"HMPH"
Of course it is.
What is it with her? Lead by EXAMPLE, dammit!
So Leia blows a hole in the wall - says « in the chute flyboy - Luke and Han see the crap that they've got themselves into - and tell her "Go on". She makes a "Hmph" sound (as if to say 'Well, I had the idea - it's up to you lot to execute it'). Aren't people in authority supposed to lead by example? When Luke dives in he yells "OH NO" on seeing what he's about to fall into! Han then gives Chewie a reassuring kick in the knee-cap.
Women!
So a 9 year old puts in a hushed remark about how trying women can be? Maybe I was thinking of my big sister!
Film Notes
I'm always impressed with the way the actors dived headfirst into that hole in the wall. Harrison Ford's always been good for doing stunts himself, but what do you think was on the other side of that set? A mattress? Boxes? A swimming pool? Pillow factory?
Thanks for reading! Care to comment?

You definately didn't draw this one yesterday.
Nope - not yesterday: 33 years ago.
Picasso said something like: "When I was 8, I could draw like Raphael. Now at 50 I'm trying to learn to draw like a child."
It's not easy I can assure you!
For Carrie, a big pile of coke.
Lots of diagonals! Foreshadowing the dia noga?
Diagonals (Ooh - just twigged your near anagram!) You're right. There really are loads of diagonals. We might have started a bit of geometry in School around this time. If I did have one of those tin cases with set squares and protractors - I still didn't seem to be using it!
"Great artists don't require the assistance of straight edges!"
I just bought them Lego Star Wars for the DS hand held game console, and they are waiting for the Lego Star Wars movie that will be on (I think this Friday).
They Kept Calling the Jawas Jabbas, but other than that knew all the characters.
Thus another generation of Geekdom takes it's rightful place in the Universe. I'm so proud!
Hey Neil has your little Jedi in training seen any of your films yet?
Gabby was at badminton or work or something and I sat him on my lap to watch the original version. I think he was only 3 and a half or so. I loved holding him close and talking him through it: starwarsage9.com/.../...
Big wide eyes on him like saucers!
